Assistance in Singapore

If you are a company and you are considering, which many do, to registering the company in Singapore, you may need some assistance in doing so. Fortunately in Singapore there are businesses like which specialize in assisting foreign companies to register. Some of the areas where a company may need assistance is in finding a suitable director; one that meets the Singapore government requirement. Also a company may need assistance in finding a suitable corporate secretary as they too have to be approved by the Singapore government. Obviously a company will already have at least one director but unless one of those current directors has a valid employment permit for Singapore, another director will have to be nominated, one that is either a Singapore citizen or at least a recognized permanent resident in Singapore. As for the corporate secretary, the requirement is that it has to be a Singapore national. As getting a director an official employment permit may not be too hard, providing the Singapore government with the name of a director may not be too difficult but, as the corporate secretary must be a Singapore citizen; that may be a little more difficult however, you are permitted a 6 month grace period in which to find someone suitable. The corporate secretary must be proficient as it will be them that will keep the official records of the company, required by the Singapore government. Another aspect which you may need assistance with is finding suitable office space as, even though you may not have considered opening an office in Singapore, the government insists that you do. You will therefore be required to provide the government with a proper Singapore address for a company office which will be open during usual Singapore business hours.
Singapore is considered to be one of the best countries in the world to either live or do business in and is the third wealthiest country in the world, according to Forbes Magazine at least. That and the fact that the Singapore political system is considered to be stable, makes Singapore a great place to operate from or at least have an office in. Perhaps the main reason so many foreign companies register in Singapore though has nothing to do with the living conditions but more to do with the country’s low tax rates for businesses. The Singapore government actively welcomes foreign companies to register with them and so keep their taxation rates low as an incentive. Another advantage of doing business or having a business in Singapore is the fact that it is considered to be the best country in the world in which to find a qualified workforce. Its perhaps unique location on the main shipping routes between the east and the west is of course yet another advantage as both companies from the east and west are located in the country, making doing international business in Singapore far easier than it is in many other locations around the globe.
